Cruise Packing Checklist and Sea Sickness Tips

Planning a cruise? Here are some helpful tips and a handy checklist to help you prepare for your vacation from the comfort of your home. Whether you choose to go with friends or alone, remember that seasickness is common on cruises so plan accordingly.

What to Pack for a Cruise.

You’ve been looking forward to your cruise for months, but now you’re reading through some of the reviews and feeling a little worried. Here is a quick checklist that should make your voyage to paradise much less stressful.
– Arrange your luggage the night before to make sure you have everything in one place.
– Pack all of your clothing into baggies with tags so it will be easy to identify what belongs with what piece of clothing.
– Invest in an umbrella and keep it with you at all times.
– Keep any medications with you at all times too!

The Sea Sickness.

A few days before your cruise, you should take some sea sickness pills. If that doesn’t work for you, do these things: Eat foods high in magnesium: most nuts, wheat germ, bananas, dates. They can improve your appetite and reduce nausea. Drink plenty of water. Stay out of the sun as much as possible until after you’ve been on the ship for about 24 hours. Wear a sun hat with a wide brim; this way you can get more protection from UV rays without completely covering your face. Keep yourself cool by wearing light clothes and sitting in an area where the air is cool and moist.
